the other girl

weather the storm
many more come
climate change that
is coming

many more souls suffer daily
my capuchino is getting cold thinking about this
personal trainer will be mad with my lack of focus
it all seems so futile

there is a beat
it keeps time to my life
and i find it
suffering down boulavards
byways and back streets

she asks no questions
waits for nothing more than my release
and she is always there for me
if I take care of her in the least

we move together toward
and end
sometimes it's away from the start and some
time it's not

i give you what i got
what i can
up the slopes we struggle alone in silence
mist or dust moves in on to us

cross racing season '09

call the season off
got the bike
even did a bit of cross training at the local public park
and when I paid the entry fee
and when I didnt show for the race
I felt for the first time in a cycling career
the thunder and clap of times are a changing.

here I sit with my double life in two north american countries
racing is harder when your family is not involved
when the drive is alone and time away is time apart
we can plan that Sunday is family day
things fall into place
but family day could be at the cross races no?

cyclocross training: getting started 2009-2010 season

I have just purchased a new scandium Voodoo Limba frame for my return to cyclocross after a five year hiatus. It will be a week or two before it arrives and is set up for training. My idea for this blog is to unite like minded cyclocross souls in San Diego for training before the racing season gets underway.
I fell in love with cyclocross in the early 90's with a baptism by fire in the DFL Cyclocross Dressing Series now it it's 15th year. Team DFL actively recruited bicycle messengers into its ranks and I was a courier eager to bike race.
